The Price of Truth in Minnesota Family Court

They didn’t put me in jail—but they might as well have.
Instead of handcuffs, the court came after my wallet.
I received the official order last Thursday: I’m being fined $5,200 for contempt of court—not because I harmed anyone, not because I broke a law—but because I published the truth. I posted the Guardian ad Litem’s report that showed trauma in my children, exposed the state’s inaction, and documented everything this court refused to fix. And for that, they say I owe Amy’s attorney $5,200 if I don't take down the report by end of business today May 20th, 2025.
This is the same attorney, Alex Landreville, who has been illegally accessing my personal computer data through Amy and introducing that stolen evidence into court hearings. You can read the full breakdown here:👉 Standing Trial for Telling the Truth: The Cost of Speaking Out Against a Broken System
And now—just weeks later—Alex Landreville has officially withdrawn as Amy’s attorney. His reason? “Other.”Let’s be honest: we all know it wasn’t just “other.” Are you trying to distance yourself???
Yet this court wants me to pay him—the same person who has been criminally involved in every hearing I’ve had.
They want me to financially support the very person whose actions helped engineer this injustice.
And even more disturbing: the court’s order doesn’t say a single word about holding Amy or Alex accountable for their illegal activity, despite it being formally raised in the affidavits for this contempt hearing.
So I ask:
Where is the justice?
On top of that, I paid $6,300 to my own attorney just to defend myself in that same hearing. A hearing we lost—not because the law was against me, but because the system is. If I paid their fine that’d be $11,500 gone—not for justice, not for accountability, but for speaking out.
This isn’t a punishment for contempt. It’s a punishment for defiance. For being a father who won’t stay silent while his children suffer.
And let’s not forget: the OFP was lifted in October 2024. The state admits I’m not a danger and the allegations of child abuse were false. The Guardian ad Litem initially recommended more visitation. And yet here I am—still fighting just to see my kids outside a supervision center, while being financially strangled by a system desperate to protect itself.
This is the real cost of telling the truth in Minnesota family court.
But let me be clear:
I’d rather fight than be silent.
To prove it, I'm not removing the report and I'm not paying the fine. As I stated to the court, do your worst.
I will keep speaking until this system answers for what it’s doing—not just to me, but to countless other parents across this state.
And to every parent who’s afraid to speak out—know this: the truth has a cost. But silence has a greater one.
Here is my affidavit response to the order on motion for contempt I submitted to the court today. There's no going back now.
Again, here is the blog post I have been ordered to remove: https://www.ryanalvar.com/post/guardian-ad-litem-family-court-report-temporary
Please read it and share it. There is a reason the government wants it hidden. As a parent there is a reason I don't.
If you want a better understanding of why I refuse to give in listen to the recordings on the home page at: https://www.ryanalvar.com/
If government actors can so easily strip away my constitutional rights, what deeper injustices are they hiding within the family court system?
322 days since my children were kidnapped. This isn't over.

Believe it or not, your influence on your state representative and state senator can open the door to change. A quick email or call from you can make a big impact.

I’ve already heard from parents who’ve lost everything. Some haven’t seen their children in years.
This is real. This is dangerous. And this is why we fight.
